A note to Spring 2013 6.003 students

If you are a student planning to take 6.003 in Spring 2013, please note that it will be taught in the conventional style (following more closely the book by Oppenheim and Willsky). We consider the experiment done in Fall 2012, restructuring the course more firmly around linear algebra, to have been a success and will offer it again in the 2013-2014 academic year.

Logistics

The final exam is Tuesday Dec 18, from 1:30pm - 4:30pm in the du Pont Gymnasium.
Comprehensive exam. Emphasis on material since quiz 2.
You are allowed 2 sheets of 8.5x11 paper, front and back, for notes/formulas.
What do I need to know about...
- Least Squares?
  - be able to formulate least squares problems in DT
  - understand properties of the solution (vs mechanics)
- State space?
